I suppose the question is “why have friendly matches at all”, when the team we field is nothing like the team that will compete in the tournament. The whole point of a friendly, is to test out the players, and give them chance to play together as a team, and also to introduce fresh blood to the team.
The odds are when England play there next international friendly against Ghana, there wont be a single player who will actually play in the next touranament !!
But i ask myself, is it not a fantastic oppurtunity to prove your metal as an up and coming player, and lets face it, after the last World cup i think a new team might be a good idea !!

In the light of Sir Alex Ferguson getting a touch line ban, for saying the wrong things to the press, about the ref Martin Atkinson performance, should managers refuse to be interviewed. I mean whats the point if a manager cant tell the truth about what he thinks about the game, without fear of a touchline ban.
Maybe they should insist on the ref being interviewed, so they can give their side just to balance things out. I mean the odds are the Ferguson rant will be a thing of the past and we dont want that do we.

Hello.
Further on the subject of John Terry becoming the new England captain, the odds are that he will be picked above Rio Ferdinand, who we now learn could be out for the rest of the season with a calf injury.
The question is should we not pick a younger captain, Jack wilshire for instance, he seems to be the player we are all buzzing about. He has the personality and drive we need.
Should we not look to the future?

Rooney leaving Man Utd whats the odds on that.
I must say, that I was shocked when the news broke that he could be leaving the Club. Contrary to the somewhat cheesey press photo’s of Sir Alex and Rooney that we all saw a few month’s back, the pair haven’t kissed and made up.
It appears that no one player is bigger than the club, not even Rooney. He does seem to be back to his old, sharp form, so he’s likely to attract megga bucks if the rumours are true.

Whats the odds of John Terry being captain of England? I think Terry is a class act, but he needs to prove himself playing for England, after the last world cup performance “by all the team not just Terry”.
Terry and Lampard dont play for England with the same enthusiasm as they do for Chelsea. If he can produce the same for England, as he does playing for Chelsea week in and week out , then yes he should be captain.

So soon after the weekend’s fixture, Arsenal Play again,The Gunners are expected to win newly-promoted West Brom at Hawthorns. Tony Mowbray believes in playing football rather than playing for points!!! Arsenal should come away winners. The odds for one-nil to Arsenal is 11/2.
Van Persie is the 4/1 favourite to score the first goal but Kolo Toure to get the first goal and could be worth backing at 28/1
